Checklist Linux Migration

 Switch from Windows or Mac to Linux
  1. Adressbook: export/save as vCard (vcf)
  2. Calendar: export/save as vCalendar (vcf) or iCalendar (ics)
  3. E-Mail: export/save as mbox. More infos: LinuxUser 06/2003 (German)
  4. Office: export/save as MS-Office StarOffice or ODF format.
  5. Browser: export/save bookmarks (as HTML).
  6. Exotics: export/save as open formats (example PDF)
  7. Save or burn all files on externals medium (hard disk or CD/DVD
  8. Hardware: optimal without TC trustedcomputinggroup.org, Trusted Platform Matrixand againsttcpa.com
  9. Operating system: buy a Linux box or download it, Ubuntu or Suse
  10. In Linux: import the required files. Done! Enjoy Linux!
